Professional Summary The Member Services Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional customer support by resolving inquiries and complaints related to health plan coverage, claims, referrals, eligibility, and billing. This role serves as a key point of contact for members, providers, employer groups, and other stakeholders, ensuring accurate information is provided through phone, email, and in-person interactions. The ideal candidate is experienced in high-volume call center environments, particularly within regulated industries such as healthcare or insurance, and demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail in every interaction.
Key Responsibilities * Respond to member and provider inquiries regarding health plan benefits, claims, referrals, and eligibility. * Resolve complaints and service issues related to appointment access, billing, physician selection, and medical center services. * Handle inbound and outbound calls with professionalism and efficiency, maintaining high service standards. * Educate members and employer groups on billing processes, coverage details, and online system enrollment. * Assist with delinquent account notifications and payment arrangements. * Maintain confidentiality of member information in compliance with company and regulatory policies. * Collaborate with internal departments to update and correct member account information. * Navigate multiple complex systems to research and resolve issues independently. * Meet departmental performance standards for call handling, availability, and audit compliance. Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED (must be verifiable). * Minimum of 1 year of high-volume call center experience. * Prior experience working from home in a customer service capacity. * Experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare, insurance, banking, or credit services. * Preferred: Call center experience in a healthcare or insurance environment. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple systems and tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Demonstrated professionalism, empathy, and problem-solving abilities.
