About the Role Canon USA is currently seeking a Senior Project Implementation Specialist (Sr Specialist, Proj Implement). The Senior Project Implementation Specialist will lead and manage complex multi-function device implementation projects within a managed print services environment, while also contributing to the development and delivery of new project management and support services focused on digital transformation. This includes assisting with workflow analyses, observations, and recommendations to optimize business processes. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of traditional project management expertise, a forward-thinking approach to digital transformation initiatives, and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Typically reports to a Senior Manager or Director and may mentor or supervise one or two less experienced professional staff.
This role bridges traditional project implementation with forward-looking digital transformation support. It requires a balance of tactical project execution and strategic service development, with a strong emphasis on customer engagement, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The position can be based out of Melville, NY, Burlington, NJ, Boston, MA, Rocky Hill, CT, Wilmington, DE or Philadelphia, PA. This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs. Your Impact KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Planning & Execution - With limited supervision, develop and manage comprehensive project plans for device implementations and digital transformation initiatives. - Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project milestones are met on time and within scope. - As needed, manage on-site implementation resources, logistics, and associated activities at customer locations. - Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to accommodate changes in scope, schedule, or resources. - Proactively and collaboratively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. - Resolve project issues in a timely manner, escalating when necessary to ensure project continuity. - Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and comply with organizational policies and client requirements. - Conduct post-project reviews and Lessons Learned sessions to drive continuous improvement. - Utilize project management tools and software to track progress, manage tasks, and report on performance. - Contribute to the development and refinement of project management tools, templates, and methodologies. - Stakeholder Engagement & Communication - Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders - including clients, vendors, and/or internal teams. - Coordinate and facilitate regular status meetings and provide clear, concise updates to stakeholders at all levels, including C-Level executive leadership. - Manage expectations and ensure alignment between project goals and stakeholder needs. - Collaborate with Canon business units and functional teams to identify opportunities to improve existing processes and/or implement new processes and technologies. - Collaborate with other Project Management Team members to share knowledge and support team goals. - Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to a culture of learning and professional growth. - Collect and apply feedback from internal and external clients to continuously improve processes and personal performance. - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including C-level executives. - Workflow Analysis & Digital Transformation - Support on-site and remote assessments of current-state workflows, including interviews, observations, and data collection. - Help identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation or digitization. - With limited supervision, develop and present recommendations for workflow improvements, including technology solutions and/or process redesigns. - Examples include: - Paper-to-digital automation: Replace manual forms with electronic forms and automated approval workflows. - Print Optimization: Implement secure print release and/or rules-based printing to reduce costs and improve security. - Document Management: Migrate from physical storage to centralized digital repositories with metadata tagging. - Device Onboarding: Standardize deployment and training processes for new devices and associated solutions. About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring - Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in document management or managed print services - Experience managing or supporting digital transformation projects - Familiarity with Daptiv (or similar project management software) preferred - Strong understanding of print workflows and paper-to-digital automation - Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% - Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills CERTIFICATION(S) & LICENSE(S) - Project+ or equivalent project management certification. - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required. - Six Sigma or similar process improvement training is a plus. - Daptiv software training is a plus. OTHER EXPECTATIONS - Knowledge of the document management industry (preferred). - Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities. - Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Experience interacting directly with clients at all organizational levels, including C-Level executives. - High level of professionalism, adaptability, and customer service orientation. - Meticulous attention to detail. - Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. - Ability to convey technical content and concepts simple and clearly. - Clear, effective, precise written and verbal communication. - Proficiency with MS O365 Suite, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Teams. - Familiarity with Daptiv project management software a plus. - Experience managing projects in a matrix environment. - Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed based on customer requirements. - Maintain a working knowledge of available Canon and/or partner/vendor hardware, equipment, solutions, and associated functionality. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT - Requires long periods of walking/standing while working on location at customer sites. - Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. In accordance with applicable law, we are providing the anticipated base salary range for this role: $76,150 - $114,040.
