Position Summary
**We are accepting applications for this position from all students regardless of work study award, however, work study is preferred**
Marketing is a crucial tool for running a successful high-profile department with diverse programs and goals. The Marketing Assistant/Reception position creates a cohesive brand image for the LoboRESPECT Advocacy Center (LRAC) at UNM through marketing and graphic design expertise. This position is a core part of our campus presence, providing marketing support for everyday LRAC services, prevention programming including Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness Months, and the Lobo Food Pantry. On an average day, the Marketing Assistant contributes to our departmental photo library, films short-form video content, develops print material for events, manages the LRAC social media accounts, and generally uses their creativity to promote the LRAC to the UNM community. Ideally, this position goes beyond text-based graphics created in Canva and employs photography-based media and social media videography to tell the story of the Advocacy Center.
The Marketing Assistant/Reception position will work closely with LRAC staff on assignments relating to mandatory student sexual assault prevention training and the Lobo Food Pantry. In addition, the successful candidate will assist the LRAC team in performing intake for matters involving University withdrawal, faculty communication, navigation of university support services, and general advocacy. Therefore, this position includes general administrative duties with an emphasis on marketing.
Duties Include:
  • Develop and facilitate marketing and social media promotional materials for LRAC services that enhance our cohesive brand and further our outreach efforts to UNM students and the community.
  • Plan and implement prevention education programming, including Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) and Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).
  • Post event flyers and maintain information on public displays.
  • Facilitate student intake and assist with administrative duties at the LoboRESPECT Advocacy Center front desk, including greeting walk-ins and scheduled students, answering phone calls, taking messages, and maintaining a knowledge of staff calendars.
  • Assist in tabling UNM campus events by providing information on LRAC services and answering student questions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
This position collaborates with staff across both the LoboRESPECT Advocacy Center and the Dean of Students Office and will be expected to collaborate on projects and assignments as needed.
