Facilities Maintenance Technician

At the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center, we recognize that every employee plays a vital role in supporting our patients throughout their cancer care journey. Creating a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for our care teams is essential to delivering high-quality treatment. To support the ongoing maintenance and growth of our practice, we are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including HVAC system maintenance, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, landscaping, and general upkeep tasks that help ensure our clinic remains safe, functional, and welcoming for both patients and staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities and a proactive approach to resolving facilities-related issues and requests. This role will also support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $18.00 - $36.56. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fixtures, equipment, and furniture, including desks, chairs, file cabinets, carts, and cabinetry.
  • Conduct HVAC system servicing and general plumbing, heating, and air conditioning maintenance troubleshooting or repairs.
  • Assist with minor electrical work under supervision, including safety checks and testing of generators and emergency equipment.
  • Maintain clinic cleanliness through tasks such as trash removal, restroom and office cleaning, floor care, dusting, and window washing.
  • Replenish supplies in restrooms and lounges; replace light bulbs and perform routine building and equipment repairs.
  • Maintain and organize storage areas, mechanical rooms, and biowaste management spaces.
  • Assemble, move, and install furniture and fixtures as needed.
  • Install and repair floors, walls and window coverings.
  • Support major repair or installation projects by assisting other staff or contractors with coordination and materials handling.
  • Maintain clinic grounds, including mowing, watering, spraying, trash pickup, gutter cleaning, and power washing.
  • Monitor and report inventory levels for filters, lamps, janitorial supplies, and other essential items.
  • Manage daily clinical deliveries of supplies and freight.
  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings and support safety initiatives.
  • Ensure all work areas and tools are kept clean, safe, and well-organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Trade school or vocational diploma preferred.
  • 1 -3 years experience, preferably maintenance/skilled trade experience.
