Data Architect/Engineer

Summary:

The Data Architect/Engineer designs and implements Data Inventory Management System (DIMS), Enterprise Data Catalog, and mesh components, enabling data integration and interoperability for DHA's data ecosystem.

*This role is based in Falls Church, VA with possible telework.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop DIMS and catalog, integrating with MHS GENESIS and Advana (Objectives 1-2).
• Implement metadata harvesting and reusable components.
• Ensure scalability and compliance with VAULTIS goals.
• Support AI/ML pipeline integration.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data models; normalization and denormalization.
• Knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading using tools.
• Design and implementation of scalable data warehouses and data lakes.
• Ability to design efficient data solutions based on business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• AWS or Azure certification.
• Mid to Senior level (5-8 years, 3+ in DoD/healthcare).
• 5+ years in data architecture/engineering.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools, Collibra, or Apache Atlas.
• Experience with DoD cloud platforms (e.g., AWS GovCloud).

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 annually.
