Salary: $41.47 Per Hour

JOB TITLE: VAV Mechanic

SUMMARY:

Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems and associated HVAC equipment to ensure optimal indoor air quality and system performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Must be available for emergency calls after normal working hours when on call.

* Normal working hours are expected to be Mon-Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with occasional second shift rotation from 9:30 a.m. -6:00 p.m. and rotating on-call list

* Perform general maintenance, inspection, calibration, and repair of VAV boxes, actuators, and sensors

* Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC issues related to temperature control, airflow, and communication with Building Automation Systems (BAS)

* Adjust airflow settings and replace components such as thermostats, dampers, and control boards as needed

* Document maintenance and repair activities in CMMS system

* Assist with preventive maintenance programs for HVAC systems

* Performs other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Prior experience (minimum 2 years preferred) maintaining and repairing VAV systems, HVAC systems, and building automation controls

* Able to interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics

* Must be willing and able to obtain OSHA certification to operate a man lift or scissor lift if needed

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required

* Basic computer skills, including familiarity with CMMS and BAS interfaces, METASYS

* Applied analytical skills to determine system faults and recommend corrective actions

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

* Strong troubleshooting abilities and ability to work independently

* Frequently required to stand

* Frequently required to walk

* Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity

* Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl

* Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts

* Occasionally work in high, precarious places

* Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions and indoor mechanical rooms

* While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision;

* Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus

* Ability to drive company vehicle
