CNC Machinist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Set up and run first part with established process in binder.

2. Run production and establish rates to be recorded in the binder at set-up.

3. Follow instructions given by Machine Shop Manager.

4. Obey all safety rules and always wear PPE.

5. Measure parts using specified measuring equipment in binders.

6. Keep work area clean.

7. Perform preventive maintenance checks.

8. Measure, install and adjust tooling as needed.

9. Train others to proper loading and measuring of parts.

10. Other duties designated by the Machine Shop Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

On the job training.

Mechanical aptitude.

Able to understands and read English.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience performing setups in a CNC machine shop preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Able to lift 45 lbs.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Able to read the production/process sheet and follow written and verbal directions.

2. Able to fill out production/process sheets.

3. Able to operate and setup CNC (mill and/or lathe).

4. Able to use measurement tools to inspect and adjust parts to meet customer

specifications.

5. Able to load, run and deburr parts effectively and consistently.

6. Able to read and interpret blueprints and check sheets.

7. Able to make offsets as needed and tool changes, such as inserts.

8. Logs inspection results and any missing setup or production instructions in binders for updating.

9. Ability to troubleshoot issues during production runs.

10. Able to perform duties with little or no supervision.
