Description
The Senior Associate Financial Advisor serves as a transitional step to a Financial Advisor role by supporting and growing an existing book of business under the guidance of an established Financial Advisor. This role will assist members, clients, and prospects with information, products and procedures to implement an investment program, in addition to supporting those of the Financial Advisor's existing book of business.
Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:
Job Duties:
  • Participate in and lead client meetings, reviews, and planning sessions alongside Financial Advisor(s)
  • Prepare and present financial plans, investment reviews, and client deliverables
  • Manage assigned households and provide ongoing service and planning updates
  • Assist with onboarding new clients, building planning engagement, and tracking systematic contributions
  • Collaborate with internal team, including client service, and other support teams
  • Deliver high-touch service, with a focus on financial planning, asset allocation, and goals-based recommendations
  • Handle follow-up activities including trades, paperwork, and implementation tasks
  • Track client engagement metrics and ensure timely contact schedules
  • Support business development initiatives including seminars, webinars and referrals
  • Maintain and document client activity in CRM system
  • Assist with portfolio monitoring and asset allocation reviews at the model level
  • Track new money to portfolios and systematic DCA, restricted funds and model customizations
  • Receive direction from mentor advisors and exercise judgment within the defined parameters of the program while developing understanding of tools, resources, and coaching to provide enhanced service
  • Assist in drafting and communicating market commentary and investment communications
  • Complete research and projects, as needed
  • Review basic or tactical client goals and risk tolerance, assess investment profile, and evaluate client financial needs related to lower risk tasks and deliverables with narrower impact
  • Attend and facilitate Experience Center (XC) partner meetings to build XC engagement as needed, cultivating COI's
  • Build relationships with prospects and convert them to clients, providing ongoing service through the lifetime of the client relationship
  • Maintain and organize the Financial Advisor's client files and records to comply with the requirements of all Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) and Insurance Agency (Agency) regulators as well as the organizational needs of the Financial Advisor
Essential Skills:
  • Minimum 3 years' client-facing experience in the investment or wealth management field, including experience in a consultative service role
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion and judgment when working with clients, professionally handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities and projects simultaneously and prioritize daily work, such as tracking and closing new business; scheduling appointments; proactive calls for prospecting, marketing, servicing/sales, etc.
  • Ability to assess individual client needs and foster strong relationships
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external business partners
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of the financial industry, financial concepts and the mathematics behind them, high-level product knowledge, competitive intel and client-service strategies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn Raymond James-specific applications (Advisor Access, Client Center, etc.)
  • Exposure to a CRM such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics is preferred
  • Certification/License: Series 7, 63 & 65 or 66 FINRA licenses, Life & Disability Insurance License
Location: Hillsboro Corporate Office - Hillsboro OR 97124
Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $90,000 to $120,000 (This range reflects reasonable earnings potential which includes a base salary of $80,000-$90,000 plus quarterly incentive pay tied to production growth)
