SUMMARY OF POSITION

Marine Solutions is seeking a growth-oriented professional to lead contract review, compliance, and support enterprise risk management. This role works closely with the Chief Risk Officer and company leadership, with a clear path toward senior leadership in risk.


Responsibilities include contract negotiation, compliance oversight, and gaining experience in insurance, bonding, safety, and operational risk. Ideal candidates have practical experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or small business environments, with strong judgment and problem-solving skills. Legal, insurance, or risk management backgrounds are helpful but not required.


Based in Nicholasville, KY, this position offers mentorship and training to help you grow into a senior risk management leader. If you have a foundation in contracts, compliance, or business operations and a drive to learn, we'll support your development every step of the way.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, leases, purchase orders, subcontracts, teaming agreements, NDAs, and related documents in consultation with management and client representatives. Utilize internal and external resources as needed.
  • Provide guidance to project managers and leadership on key contractual requirements and compliance obligations of contracts.
  • Partner with the Chief Risk Officer to identify operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks, and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with evaluation and oversight of company insurance policies, including renewals, audits, and claims.
  • Support bonding, certificates of insurance, and related documentation for projects and subcontractors.
  • Maintain and organize contract, compliance, and risk-related records and systems.
  • Build strong relationships across teams, promoting collaboration and proactive problem-solving.
  • Participate in management meetings, offering insight into contract, compliance, and risk issues.
  • Assist the Chief Risk Officer with operational risk and related initiatives.

YOU WILL NEED

  • Solid technical knowledge of the architecture, engineering, and construction space, including operational and technical risks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex requirements clearly.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability to evaluate risks and propose practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, engineering, accounting, risk mangagement, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in contracts, compliance, or risk management, perferably inarchitecture, engineering, and construction (AEC).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in business, law, orrisk management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the risk management, contract, or compliance functions for either AEC business or small business and seekting the opportunity to grow.

COMPENSATION

The annual salary range for positions in Kentucky is $70,000 to $100,000, based on education and relevant experience.
