Position Description:
Summary
Under direct supervision, provide basic support to laboratory functions supporting research operations and investigators as needed in the Center for Cancer Discoversy. Provide assistance with maintenance, operation, organization and inventory of laboratory equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform basic laboratory techniques and assist with general lab tasks.
- Operate, maintain and trouble shoot a variety of laboratory equipment such as autoclaving.
- Schedule and coordinate usage of shared laboratory equipment
- Manage and operate the building's centralized dishwashing and sterilization systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure timely restocking.
- Monitor and receive shipments of gas cylinders, liquid nitrogen tanks, and dry ice.
- Maintain detailed records related to supply tracking, equipment usage, and service schedules
- Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on specialized research equipment for individual investigators
- Support compliance with lab safety standards and cleanliness protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support lab operations.
