About Payzer

Payzer is a rapidly growing vertical SaaS and embedded fintech platform serving the specialty trades. We offer integrated payment processing, consumer financing, and business management tools that power how contractors get paid, offer homeowner financing, and manage daily operations-combining high-volume payments infrastructure with field service software to drive efficiency, revenue, and customer retention.

About the Team/Role

We are seeking a highly strategic and results-driven Director to lead Payments & Financing growth within the Payzer business. This role will be responsible for driving customer and volume growth across all Fintech products, including payment processing, end-customer financing, and lending. This role will own key third-party relationships with payment providers, acquirers, and processors, while also leading Payzer's payments-focused sales team to drive adoption, revenue, and long-term customer value.

You will oversee all aspects of the payments function, from commercial partnerships to go-to-market execution. This includes negotiating with top-tier financial partners, refining our embedded payments strategy, managing compliance and financial performance, and enabling the sales team to deliver strong conversion and customer adoption.

This is a highly impactful, cross-functional leadership role at the intersection of fintech, field services, and SaaS. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Sales to build a scalable, high-performing payments organization that fuels long-term growth.

How you'll make an impact

Payments Strategy & Execution

  • Own and evolve the company-wide payments growth strategy across all Payzer products and customer segments with direct responsibility for P&L

  • Evaluate and implement strategies that optimize processing costs, approval rates, and user conversion

  • Identify and address gaps in current payment flows, including card-present, card-not-present, ACH, and emerging methods

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to expand capabilities and deliver efficient, embedded payment workflows that scale with the business

  • Stay current on market trends, regulatory changes, and innovation in the payments and fintech landscape

Payments Partner Management

  • Lead commercial negotiations to align long-term goals

  • Monitor and manage partner performance, including regular business reviews to track KPIs, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement

  • Lead partner selection to ensure alignment with strategic goals

  • Ensure full compliance with industry regulations including PCI-DSS, NACHA, chargeback rules, and processor guidelines

Payments Sales Leadership

  • Lead Payzer's payments-focused sales team, ensuring high performance, quota attainment, and effective pipeline management

  • Develop sales strategies and enablement programs to accelerate payments adoption across the contractor base

  • Partner with Sales Leadership and Marketing to design and execute campaigns that drive lead generation and product education

  • Monitor sales metrics, forecasts, and conversion rates to identify trends and opportunities for optimization

  • Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning within the payments sales team

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure delivery of high-impact payment features and experiences

  • Collaborate with Finance to analyze payment volume, take rates, margin, and other key KPIs

  • Work with Legal, Finance, and Risk to reduce exposure, maintain controls, and future-proof Payzer's payment infrastructure

  • Work closely with Enablement to ensure internal sales teams are equipped with the tools and messaging to effectively position Payzer Payments

  • Serve as an internal thought leader and external evangelist for Payzer's payments offering

Experience you'll bring

  • 10-12+ years of experience in payments partnerships, payment sales, payment operations, or fintech strategy

  • Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, including acquirers, processors, gateways, interchange, and card networks

  • Proven success leading both external partnership negotiations and internal go-to-market or sales teams

  • Strong financial and contractual acumen with ability to analyze pricing, margin, and ROI

  • Demonstrated success in scaling a revenue-driving function and leading quota-carrying sales teams

  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Highly analytical, structured, and able to lead cross-functional initiatives
