WHAT WE OFFER

For the summer of 2026, Covestro's Polyols Production team is currently seeking an intern for our Channelview, TX site that will last approximately 12 weeks. The work will be done within the Process Safety and Production Sustainability areas.

Covestro strives to foster a positive, enriching, and productive work environment and provides multiple forms of training and professional development throughout the internship program. For the selected intern, the summer of 2026 should be challenging, rewarding and fun!

Depending on the immediate needs of the facility and the successful candidate's area of expertise this opportunity may include assisting with the following:

  • Utilizing Excel to build Process Hazard Analysis documentation
  • Reviewing and updating pressure safety documentation
  • Active participation in safety and housekeeping initiatives within the production unit
  • A sustainable approach to the impact on the world today and tomorrow by supporting the Production Team in sustainability initiatives and related communication
  • Small engineering studies within production

Additionally, the position offers:

WHAT YOU OFFER

Basic Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program with a major in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, HSE Management, or a related degree
  • Completion of Freshman year
  • Overall GPA of 3.0

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of sophomore year preferred

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to work both independently (once trained) and with a team
  • Possess excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Detail oriented, fast learner, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 365, specifically Excel
