Summary

The Rental Sales Manager is responsible for driving direct and indirect sales efforts for LiftOne's Rental function. This includes direct management of Rental Sales Reps and indirect management of rental sales through other applicable channels.

Essential Functions

  • Directs, motivates, develops, and manages the performance of Rental Sales Reps to achieve the overall goals of the division's market share, profit and business plan. This will include such items as training and development, rental sales coverage planning, account development, monitoring sales calls and preparing reports, compensation planning, conducting performance evaluations, etc.
  • Manages rental growth & profitability, including management of Rental target account list.
  • Interfaces with LiftOne Sales, Marketing and Inside Sales to build out and implement Rental go-to-market strategy. This work will occur in a matrixed organization and requires the need to drive progress through influence.
  • Supports the development and implementation of the Regions' annual Rental business and marketing plans for the department, including marketing campaigns, sales blitzes and seasonal Rental programs.
  • Actively monitors and actions sales activities, market trends, lost sales, and competitor information.
  • Assists in asset management based on customer needs and configurations.
  • Maintains Rental list rate matrix and cost/discounting policy updates.
  • Develops ongoing sales training process to address sales skills, time management, territory management, financial merchandising, product knowledge, competitive knowledge, etc.
  • Monitors new products or services in our industry and customer industries to ensure that we maintain a competitive position in product offerings as well as customer needs and requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has supervisory responsibilities for a rental sales team in designated territories.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a high school education with a technical training, a four-year degree in a technical discipline, such as Engineering or Technology or Business, Marketing, etc. is preferred.
  • Successful previous experience as Sales Manager (specifically with leading a team of sales reps), consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Committed to continuous education which is demonstrated through developing a sales team.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Strong business sense and experience working within an industrial space.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

Driving is an essential function of this position and a current valid driver's license must be always maintained.

Computer Skills

Must have experience using Microsoft Office software, as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, database systems, prior Salesforce experience preferred.

The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
