DESCRIPTION

This position will be an instructor, within a highly collaborative team, for UC San Diego Health staff in basic and advanced resuscitation training (BART and ART). The RN will work with resuscitation program staff to ensure training needs of organization are met and competency of staff is evaluated. Training will be comprised of didactic and simulation-based instruction. Education and training will include provision of care within the academic and community model of care.

Instructor will utilize current clinical experience to enhance training, participate in inter-professional review of rapid response and code blue events with an emphasis on improving quality outcomes and updating program curricula, and support resuscitation related quality improvement projects. Instructor will manage registrations in UCLC.

Positions will be career, limited appointment, or a combination to fill all available instructor positions. Limited appointment positions are intended to be additional appointments to a UC San Diego Health RN's current clinical role. Selected candidates will add a limited appointment in addition to their career appointment, not to exceed 100% total. Positions offered will be dependent on qualifications and availability of qualified applicants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.

  • Current ACLS or ART certification.

  • Three (3+) or more years of relevant clinical RN experience, nurse educator or other relevant experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working within team environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate productively in a team environment with all levels of internal and external personnel and to convey complex clinical information in a clear, concise manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN/MSN.

  • AHA ACLS or BLS instructor experience.

  • Two (2+) or more years of Code RN experience.

  • Certified in nursing professional development (NPD-BC) or critical care (CCRN).

  • Demonstrated quality improvement experience.

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $131,335 - $184,078 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $62.90 - $88.16

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
