Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the sterile processing department in a healthcare facility.
Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions -Oversee the daily operations of the sterile processing department, including staffing, workflow management, and resource allocation. -Ensure the timely receipt, inspection, decontamination, and processing of instruments and equipment from the operating rooms or other departments. -Monitor and maintain compliance with sterilization standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. -Coordinate and manage the inventory of sterile supplies, including receiving, inspecting, restocking, and tracking items. -Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to sterile processing technicians. -Collaborate effectively with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure instrument availability and meet patient care needs.
