Job Description

Summary:Operates and maintains forklift to supply production operations with raw materials to produce finished product, transfers finished product to storage or staging area and ensures finished product is loaded onto trucks in a timely manner to meet customers delivery requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operates and maintains forklift in a safe and efficient manner within warehouse and production environments using work instructions, visual management and computer interface.

  • Supplies production operations with raw materials to produce finished product.

  • Prints and scans Bill of Lading for all finished goods using computer interface and RF scanner.

  • Inspects finished goods for quality defects.

  • Transfers finished goods from production floor to staging or storage areas.

  • Loads finished goods onto trucks in a timely manner to meet customers delivery requirements.

  • Accurately completes all written logs and data input to include closing sequences on tickets and printing Bill of Lading.

  • Ensures accurate inventory counts and notifies lead/supervisor of discrepancies.

  • Effectively communicates with all internal departments.

  • Removes/Reworks any damaged product on pallets.

  • Maintains a clean work area and performs general housekeeping duties.

Physical demands: Manipulate product with both hands, both above and below should height. Must be able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and forklifts. Must be able to lift and /or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close visual inspection of product. Employee must be able to perform job functions in temperatures of one hundred plus degrees during summer season and forty degrees during winter season.

Qualifications: 1 to 3 years' experience in a warehouse environment preferred. Combined manufacturing experience may be considered. Must be an employee in good standing with current department including, but not limited to; a good attendance record, ability to work as a team player, positive performance evaluations and positive work history.
