Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead with deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot to join our dynamic Order Management team. Our existing team comprises strong functional and technical experts in IBM Sterling OMS. This role is pivotal in elevating our code quality, fostering technical excellence, and guiding our team in modern software development practices. You will serve as a hands-on mentor, driving best practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions

Skills Required:

Spring Boot, Microservices, Java

Skills Preferred:

PostgreSQL, Angular, GCP, React, APIs

Experience Required:

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. * 8+ years of progressive experience in software development, with a significant focus on Java and Spring Boot and familiar with multiple JDK versions including JDK 21 and above. * 3+ years of experience in a Technical Lead or Senior Software Engineer role with demonstrated leadership and mentoring responsibilities. * Proven expertise in designing, developing, and deploying microservices-based architectures using Spring Boot. * Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage). * Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) * Experience with RESTful API design and development. * Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

Experience Preferred:

Good to Have Qualifications: * Experience with ecommerce and order management platforms/ solutions * Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., Pub sub, Kafka, IBM MQ). * Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Java applications in a cloud environment. * Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, React) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities: * Technical Leadership & Architecture: * Drive the technical design and implementation of new features and enhancements using Java/ Spring Boot. * Ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, performant, and maintainable, aligning with enterprise architectural standards. * Lead discussions on technical approaches, system design, and technology choices, especially for integrations and custom components. * Code Quality & Best Practices: * Establish, implement, and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across the team. * Conduct rigorous code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to quality metrics. * Proactively identify and address technical debt, advocating for and implementing refactoring efforts. * Hands-on Development: * Contribute directly to the development of critical components, complex integrations, and proof-of-concepts, setting an example for code quality and efficiency. * Collaborate with Sterling OMS functional experts to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. * Collaboration & Communication: * Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions. * Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
