Summary Technologist will perform MRI scans on LOC patients using the protocols determined by Louisville X-Ray Associates Radiologists.In addition to performing MRIs, this individual will need to chart in EPIC, send images within Agfa EI PACS system, and provide patients care. Job Description: Job-specific / Technical Skills / Competencies 1. Maintain a professional environment through a clean and orderly department, adherence to dress code, and personal actions. 2. Screens patients and checks screening form to ensure patient safety. 3. When indicated by the patient screening process, assure that x-rays are taken and cleared by a radiologist prior to the MRI procedure. 4. Obtain patient history. 5. Assess patients for medication needs 6. Preps patients for exam, i.e. clothing change, reassurance, medication, explain procedure. 7. Start IVs on patients when scans are ordered with IV contrast. 8. Assists with Patient Safety standards. Checks patients armband for name and DOB, along with verifying provider orders to ensure correct exams are performed. 9. Performs daily equipment QA. 10. Monitors patients while in MRI area. 11. Administers contrast media under the direction of a physician and in accordance with BH LOU department policy. 13. Assist in other areas as needed, such as registering and checking in patients. 12. Responsible for all records and charting of information related to individual cases. 14. Reports malfunctions and problems to the proper persons, including management personnel. 15. Carries out additional duties as assigned.
