The Assembly Technician is responsible for the precise assembly, wiring, and integration of electronic components and metallic cabinets used in Econolite's Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) products. This role involves tasks such as cable routing, wire harnessing, hardware installation, and functional testing, with a focus on quality, safety, and adherence to documented procedures. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, is mechanically inclined, and has a strong attention to detail-especially when working with electrical parts.

DUTIES

  • Build electrical parts like wire harnesses and route cables inside cabinets.
  • Assemble metal cabinets by following instructions and quality standards.
  • Perform various hands-on tasks on the assembly line, from simple to more detailed work, with care and accuracy.
  • Follow all safety rules, work procedures, and company policies to keep the workplace safe and organized.
  • Check parts for problems and report any issues right away to help improve product quality.
  • Help with packing and labeling products when needed.
  • Support other teams or departments when extra help is needed.
  • Take care of your tools and keep them stored properly.
  • Keep your work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • You may be trained to do other tasks or special jobs that require extra attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic and mechanical product assembly and testing preferred.
  • Technical training and certification preferred.
  • Dexterity with hand tools, hand soldering equipment, and other typical electronic assembly tools.
  • Proficiency in following documented work instructions and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with peers and supervisors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of time
  • Ability to handle small components and use hand tools effectively for extended periods of time.
  • Performing repetitive tasks such as screwing, soldering, or wiring.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Safety sensitive position-will be required to work with electrical components.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT

All candidates who accept employment will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening.

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this full-time non-exempt position is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
