PSC is now hiring a reliable and detail-oriented Railcar Lead Inspector to join our team. This position will be separate from the railcar repair shop and will focus specifically on the inspection and upkeep of semi-trailers used to transport hazardous materials. The role is critical to ensuring that all trailers meet safety, compliance, and operational standards. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. Must be flexible to travel, work overtime, nights, and weekends if needed.

Pay Range: $25.00 -$28.00 an hour based on experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough mechanical inspections on semi-trailers designed for hazardous fluid transport.
  • Identify, document, and report any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or compliance gaps.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and complete required documentation.
  • Work safely around hazardous materials in compliance with company and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure equipment remains in optimal working condition.
  • Communicate findings clearly in both written and verbal form.


Overall Responsibilities:

  • Notifies of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks
  • Previous experience in a mechanical, maintenance, or inspection-related field preferred.
  • Ability to perform mechanical inspections and identify potential issues.
  • Follows all safety rules, keeps work area clean and complies with all ARS Environmental Health and Safety Policies
  • Ensures FRA, AAR and/or ARS and customer quality assurance standards are met
  • Completes any other duties as assigned in order to complete the task


Job Qualifications:

  • Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
  • May require a valid Driver's License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
