      What You'll do
      As a skilled and creative Communications Specialist, you will support the development and delivery of engaging content across internal and external communications channels. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of communications - from digital campaigns and email marketing to employee messaging and customer education. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and storyteller with a solid understanding of digital platforms and corporate communications best practices.

      How you'll make an impact:

      • Drive multi-channel communication through content creation and tactical execution. You'll write, create, script and deploy content for multiple platforms-including website, email, intranet, social media, podcast, and more-ensuring accuracy, tone, and timing align with the brand and compliance standards to safeguard the Bank's reputation.

      • Amplify FHLBank Chicago's commitment to members, housing and community development through impactful content production from press releases to member and beneficiary stories, emails, presentations, social media posts, and graphics/photography.

      What you can expect:

      • Support internal communications efforts, including newsletters, presentations, executive messaging, and change management communications. Writing and posting intranet and internal TV messaging, developing graphics and supporting weekly internal email newsletter.

      • Supporting member and customer communications such as newsletters, financial highlights, product and program announcements on the website and email marketing system. Manage website content aging process.

      • Develop clear, helpful communications that simplify complex financial and technology topics-such as digital tools, product changes, or regulatory updates.

      • Collaborate with other communicators, designers, writers, vendors and internal partners.

      What you'll bring:

      • Knowledge at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or public relations, or business to acquire the technical background necessary to perform assigned duties.

      • 2-5 years of related work experience in corporate communications, preferably within a financial institution or highly regulated industry. Experience in professional writing required.

      • Excellent written, oral communication, proofreading and editing skills.

      • Solid visual, graphic arts, desktop design, photography, and social media management skills.

      • Ability to independently manage projects to completion and operate swiftly to meet tight deadlines.

      • Proficient in the use of content calendars/databases (Airtable), design tools (Canva), social media management (Sprout Social), presentation design, website content management systems (Sitefinity) and Google Analytics, email marketing (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and other PC technologies including Microsoft 365 products, SharePoint and Copilot. Basic HTML or CSS knowledge a plus.

      • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with the public, media, member institutions, partners, vendors and Bank staff in conducting business and promoting a positive image of the Bank.

      • Understanding of financial industry a plus, and willingness to learn a must.

      • Willingness to travel to cover stories or attend events representing FHLBank Chicago throughout our district of Illinois and Wisconsin (less than 10% of time).

      Salary Range:

      $62,775.00 - $104,675.00

      The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we may also consider your experience, and other job-related factors.
