Today, our equipment is recognized as the standard for excellence in text telecommunications. Ultratec, Inc. is actively seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team.

This full-time position offers a Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule, a competitive starting wage, a full benefits package, and a casual work environment. This is a Hybrid position, with most of the work performed remotely, but there may be a need to report on-site as often as once per week. Job Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for monthly accounting functions, preparing accurate financial reports, supporting the Director of Finance on projects, and handling confidential financial information. The role also involves researching and analyzing complex issues, collaborating across departments and with external contacts, and requires a high degree of integrity in all responsibilities.

  • Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, record transactions, prepare billings, and prepare monthly financial statements for multiple companies.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation, additions, and disposals using Sage Fixed Assets Software (FAS).
  • Prepare monthly and specialized reports, including cash flow projections and sales/inventory reports.
  • Coordinate and assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including invoice review and approval.
  • Research and apply multi-state sales and use tax laws, assist with registration requirements, and answer or investigate sales tax questions.
  • Reconcile and record Flex Spending program transactions and generate monthly reports.
  • File annual reports/state registrations and maintain Registered Agents in multiple states.
  • Perform month-end procedures and daily record-keeping and reconciliations.
  • Approve, initiate and record bank transactions.
  • Analyze documentation for tariffs on imported products and maintain related records.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with year-end audits, U.S. Census Bureau surveys, and other projects.



Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports.

  • Four-year accounting degree preferred.
  • Minimum two years of accounting experience with an emphasis on general ledger.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software system.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cohesive team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
