The Sr. Business Strategist will reside within the Office of the CDIO - and the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting development and enablement of long and short-term change management strategy and enablement tactics in the service of the transformation of the Data & Technology function at FedEx. The successful candidate must have demonstrated leadership in evaluation and formulation of strategic objectives while fostering strong relationships across critical stakeholder groups at all levels of the organization. Candidates must also be adept at serving as guide to Organization Change management practices for technology environments. Lastly, this role often operates in complex, often ambiguous environments - the prospect of delivering value in a constantly evolving scenario must excite the candidate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated business acumen including understanding the impact of technology trends on the business, and its impact to technology organizations.

  • Experience working closely with leadership to understand their vision and translate into effective strategic narratives.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, problem structuring, and problem-solving skills. Strong human relations and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams or projects, even when faced with a high level of ambiguity and autonomy.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-organizational teams.

  • Must display remarkable ease when interacting with and championing leadership conversations, and forums.

Essential Functions

Under limited supervision, the successful candidate will:

  • Supports change management assessments that are transformational in nature for FedEx Data & Technology.

  • Provides leadership in the evaluation of strategic objectives, formulation of strategic direction, and influences decision making based on assessment of business trends, data analytics, and strategic frameworks.

  • Plans, organizes, and develops analyses / assessments grounded in deep understanding of the business, technology, industry and market trends.

  • Supports change management methodologies to understand key strategic issues, identifies data sources (internal and external).

  • Manages ongoing discussions with peer partners in other internal work groups on identified priorities supported with clear fact-based recommendations.

  • Engages with leadership teams / key stakeholders on identified priorities supported with clear fact-based recommendations and provides actionable insights to leadership teams.

  • Works collaboratively to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and cross-organizational teams.

  • Participates in cross-functional meetings and provides insight/guidance to peers/managers/directors/leadership in partner teams. Interfaces with areas across the enterprise to discuss changes impacted by strategic recommendations.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative business field or closely related technical specialized field of study. Three (3) years related work experience.

  • Work experience in functions focused on change management enablement in strategy development, strategy planning, and support of strategic initiatives.

  • Experience of enabling change management methodologies that are transformational in nature.

  • More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements. A related master's degree equals two (2) years' experience.

  • Organizational change management certification in CCMP, Prosci, etc. Is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
