Primary Responsibilities:



  • This position provides coding and coding auditing services based on operative reports according to correct coding principles, current NCCI rules and LCD coverage determinations
  • This includes the analysis and translation of medical and clinical diagnoses, procedures, injuries, or illnesses into designated numerical codes
  • The coder also acts as a liaison to the physicians and clinical teams and provides feedback to physicians and management staff regarding proper documentation and coding and works within company standards to maintain policy and procedures
  • Meets coding and abstracting deadlines to expedite the billing and charge entry process and ensures best practices are met according to departmental policy and procedures
  • This team member will be proficient in all areas to ensure cross coverage

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • Knowledge of ICD-9/10 codes, CPT, and HCPCs
  • 2+ years of physician billing to include at least 1 year of coding experience abstracting from medical record documentation
  • Diversified understanding of CPT guidelines and Medicare rules and regulations
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Radiation Oncology Certified Coder (ROCC)
  • Certified ASC Coder Credential (CASCC)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; organizational skills
  • Maintain confidentiality



Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $35.72 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
