SUMMARY:

The Public Safety Officer II is responsible for providing advanced security services to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves mentoring junior officers, coordinating emergency responses, and implementing security protocols. The role plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure and safe environment within the healthcare facility. Ensures no one enters the hospital with any weapons or other unpermitted objects that would potentially cause a safety issue within our hospital.

Full Time, Day Shift, 40 Hours Per Week

  • Perform comprehensive security patrols throughout the healthcare facility, including high-risk and sensitive areas.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to complex security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
  • Oversee access control measures and ensure proper identification and authorization of individuals entering secure areas.
  • Provide mentorship to junior public safety officers, fostering their professional development.
  • Assist investigations of security incidents, including theft, vandalism, and disturbances, and prepare detailed incident reports.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary during incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of security activities and incidents for regulatory and internal review.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans.
  • Conduct regular emergency drills and exercises to enhance readiness and response capabilities.
  • Serve as a key contact during emergencies, coordinating response efforts and providing leadership.
  • Assist training sessions for security staff on advanced security techniques, emergency response, and customer service.
  • Stay informed about the latest security technologies and best practices in healthcare security.
  • Assist in developing training materials and programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the security team.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety and security regulations.
  • Prepare for and assist with regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Operate and monitor advanced security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
  • Report and follow up on any malfunctions or issues with security equipment.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing technology upgrades to improve security operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

* High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or education in criminal justice, public safety, or a related field is preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum 16.05/hour - Maximum 25.69/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
