Title: Data Analyst - P3

Location: Fountain Valley, CA (Onsite at client - M - F)

Reports To: Manager, Strategy & Analytics

The Role:

The Data Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing and processing automotive data to ensure it meets internal standards for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness-standards driven by client demands. This individual will support ongoing improvements across the content department, collaborating closely with internal partners to connect data-driven tactics to outcomes and recommend future activities.

Work directly with our client to transform our raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions by identifying trends, optimizing processes, and uncover opportunities for growth.

What You'll Be Doing in This Role:



  • Design and execute, high-profile SQL queries and reports with high accuracy and speed.
  • Optimize SQL queries for performance, especially across large datasets (10+ million rows).
  • Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends, diagnose key marketing drivers, and generate actionable insights.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for specific data domains.
  • Prioritize work independently to maximize efficiency while meeting project deadlines.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product, operations, and development teams to align data strategies with business goals.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of departmental policies, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance.



Qualifications of this Role:



  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, including significant SQL development work.
  • Advanced SQL skills (e.g., PostgreSQL), including experience optimizing complex queries on large datasets.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as QlikView (required), Tableau, or Power BI (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to present technical findings in a clear, concise manner.
  • Highly accurate with strong attention to detail; sound decision-making in high-pressure environments.
  • Proven ability to manage time and meet tight deadlines, including availability for occasional overtime, early mornings, late nights, or weekends.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Post-secondary education in data analytics, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in the automotive industry or with automotive data is a strong asset.
  • Exposure to Python or R for data wrangling or statistical analysis.
  • Experience delivering analytical tasks, being responsible for requirements and having the courage to challenge misconceptions.
  • Process SQL queries for reporting & dashboards in an extremely timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform diagnostic analyses to understand and explain trends and drivers of key marketing metrics to better the success of the program.
  • A good understanding of statistical topics and the ability to explain them to non-technical stakeholders (e.g., hypothesis testing, linear regression).
  • Meet accuracy, timeliness and completeness guidelines set by the department (which is driven by client demand) by prioritizing work assignments to maximize personal efficiency.
  • Represent the content in a professional/consultative manner to other departments.
  • This individual is considered a data "go to" person or subject matter expert (SME) for a department function, process, or data subset.
  • Experience using a data warehouse and SQL.
  • Experience using a business intelligence tool to create dashboards and promote self-service of insight.
