The Manager, Data Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive data security strategies to protect the organization's critical information assets. This role ensures regulatory compliance, and the deployment of robust security controls across applicable data environments. The Manager, Data Security will also be responsible for improving and maintaining Digital Rights Management (e.g. DRM) solutions along with driving Data Loss Prevention (e.g. DLP) and Data Security Posture Management (e.g DSPM) strategies and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and cybersecurity frameworks. This role will report to the Director of Cybersecurity and have one direct report.

Our Manager, Data Security:



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive DLP strategy to identify, classify, and protect sensitive data across all platforms, ensuring that unauthorized access and exfiltration risks are mitigated.
  • Assist the GRC Department in CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to all security controls required for defense and government-related data protection.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of DRM and DSPM products, ensuring secure document sharing, automated data classification, and compliance with data protection standards.
  • Collaborate in Incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security breaches, ensuring timely communication with leadership.
  • Monitor DRM and DSPM enforcement metrics, identifying gaps and ensuring corrective actions are taken to maintain data security and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with business units, IT, and compliance teams to integrate DRM and DSPM policies into workflows, ensuring that security policies align with organizational risk management objectives.
  • Lead initiatives in Data Discovery, Data Categorization and Data Classification, ensuring that all structured and unstructured data is identified, properly categorized, and secured based on sensitivity and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct Data Flow Analysis to track how data moves across systems, ensuring security policies are enforced throughout its lifecycle.
  • Implement Data Labeling and Data Masking strategies to protect sensitive information, ensuring compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI DSS).


Education and Experience Requirements:



  • High School Diploma, GED required. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires between five to seven years in information security with a focus on data protection, or cybersecurity roles. 1-3 years of experience leading direct reports is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with CMMC compliance required.
  • Experience in developing or managing DRM, DSPM and DLP solutions required.

This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Please note, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
