SUMMARY: The Card Sales Analyst provides strategic sales support to the Commercial Card Sales Consultants (CSCs). As a key member of the sales team that drives the sale of BankUnited's Commercial Card product, the Card Sales Analyst directly aids in new business generation and manages and impacts the speed to revenue cycle from client win / mandate to implementation. The Card Sales Analyst prepares presentations, responses to requests for proposal (RFPs), conducts portfolio analysis and prospect identification, fields questions from partners, assesses prospects, schedules client meetings, maintains sales pipeline reporting, and administratively manages all aspects of the client life cycle from win to credit underwriting to contract to implementation process, including communication and follow up. Building trust and relationships with teams across the enterprise including Relationship Managers, Treasury Solutions Officers, Credit Product Managers, Loan Closing Officers, Data Analytics, and others is a key part of this role. The Card Sales Analyst will serve as liaison between Card Sales and Line of Business (LOB) teams on key sales related initiatives including performing data analysis of bank LOB portfolios to uncover good-fit prospects for opportunity identification reviews with Relationship Managers; monitor and support the credit underwriting process leading to card contracting, coordinate and handoff to implementation, ensuring all required information is provided, support for Card risk/compliance-related procedures, and manage leads for referral to the Small Business Card program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
- Develop knowledge of the BankUnited Card offering, Card industry, competitor offerings, and client need to identify and offer insight on product features and functionality, pricing, etc.
- Manage and update Card Sales Pipeline.
- Manage the end-to-end post-win process cycle to ensure timely completion of all tasks and transition to the Card Implementation team, working closely with Line of Business and Credit and Underwriting partners. Ensure required documentation and quality control steps are complete prior to transition and hand-off to Card Implementation.
- Provide pre / post sale follow up for customers and Relationship Managers, including review of a client's card statements to vet and size opportunity and provide assessment; customize client presentations and post presentation follow up communications.
- Support Card Sales Consultants (CSC) to manage card pricing / exception pricing, compliance / exception process by sending email and system inputs.
- Collaborate with Card Sales Consultants, RMs/Bankers, and/or TSOs and other partners to provide responses to client RFPs.
- Work with CSCs to identify cross-sell opportunities and develop individual Banker portfolio growth strategies.
- Participate in pre-call planning sessions and support sales pitches by preparing information and presentations, attending meetings, and handling post-call follow-up information requests.
- Build relationships and work with key business partners such as Relationship Managers, Treasury Sales Officers, Credit, Loan Administration, Card Implementation, Account Managers, etc. to support the growth the Commercial Card business.
- Initiate review and brainstorm ideas for dashboard and reporting for the sales team to provide prospect / deal insights.
- Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
- Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
- Identifies and reports suspicious activity.
EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree or at least 3 years relevant business experience required. EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of sales and service experience in Commercial Card, treasury sales or sales reporting including proficiency in related systems and operational processes preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Experience working directly with external clients.
- Strong partnership record and ability to build effective business relationships.
- Ability to analyze metrics and extract data to generate actionable reporting.
- Knowledge of Commercial Card, B2B Electronic Payments, Merchant Services or Treasury and Payment Solutions, including product features and benefits.
- Proven track record of strong interpersonal, written communication, presentation, multi-tasking and professional telephone skills with clients and internal teammates.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to speak, read and write in the English language; Spanish a plus. Other languages helpful.
