Our integrated programs and services offer coordinated care to people of all ages in their homes, the community, and in our clinics. We strive for excellence in clinical care as we serve those living with mental illness, substance use disorders, crisis, unstable housing, and trauma. Canvas Health is a non-profit, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) specializing in serving clients who are on Medicaid. Position Summary This position provides Family Peer support services within the Mental Health Crisis Services to clients 5 until 18 years of age and their families. Provides services to increase the child's ability to function in the child's home, school, and community. Provide nonadversarial advocacy to a child and the child's family that encourages partnership and promotes the child's positive change and growth. Support families in advocating for culturally appropriate services for a child in each treatment setting. Assist parents in developing coping and problem-solving skills. Educate parents about mental illnesses and community resources, including resources that connect parents with similar experiences to one another. This non-clinical position may also deal with supporting crisis calls and providing in-home family peer support Schedule Daytime, Monday - Friday Part-time, 16 hours per week Location Onsite, Shakopee, MN Minimum Qualifications Certified family peer specialist programs must operate within an existing mental health community provider.
