Knowledge Manager - MILSATCOM SE&I

Location: El Segundo, CA (On-site)
Clearance: DoD Secret (active preferred)
Compensation: $91,000 - $114,000

Join Astrion's MILSATCOM SE&I team supporting the U.S. Space Systems Command (SSC) and help shape the future of secure, survivable satellite communications for the U.S. Space Force. As a Knowledge Manager, you will lead efforts to capture, structure, and distribute mission-critical information across DoD mission areas, ensuring information accessibility, compliance, and collaboration that drives mission readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain knowledge repositories and collaboration platforms (SharePoint, MS Teams, Confluence, TopVue).
  • Organize and structure data for efficient retrieval and cross-directorate access.
  • Implement and enforce data governance, metadata standards, and security protocols.
  • Support DoD-aligned information sharing across directorates and stakeholders.
  • Manage document lifecycle (version control, archiving, retrieval).
  • Deliver training and outreach to encourage knowledge-sharing best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure usability and compliance.

Qualifications (Required):

  • U.S. Citizen, ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (active preferred).
  • 5+ years' knowledge/information management experience in DoD/federal environments.
  • Experience managing digital assets and document repositories.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint, MS Teams, Confluence, TopVue.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with classified data handling.

Desired:

  • DoD space program or MILSATCOM support experience.
  • 1+ years SATCOM-specific experience.
  • Knowledge Management certifications (CKM, KMI).
  • Familiarity with DoD standards (EIA-649-1, MIL-STD-973, MIL-HDBK-61, DoD-5010-12-M, DoD-5015-2-STD).
  • IT/database management background.
