Job Summary:

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist must demonstrate clinical experience and excellence with children and adolescents and the ability to manage different acuity levels, including working with children in outpatient, inpatient units, emergency department, partial hospitalization, consultation-liaison, and primary and specialty care settings. Faculty serve in our Outpatient Clinic, Inpatient units, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Eating Disorders, Research, and our North and Colorado Springs locations. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to apply and implement evidence-based approaches to care. A history of teaching and mentoring residents, and medical students, and working with milieu staff is also desired. Scholarly activities are encouraged and supported. The psychiatrist position will serve a diverse population of patients

Along with open rank, there may be an opportunity to work in additional clinical and/or research settings based on skillset and program needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Able to perform initial psychiatric diagnostic interviews, develop and follow through with treatment plans, and maintain timely and focused documentation through the electronic medical record.

* Ability to apply and implement evidence-based approaches to care including using evidence-based guidelines for prescriptions and monitoring medications in the pediatric population

* Develop, train, and supervise trainees of various disciplines.

* Carry a caseload in setting such as our outpatient clinic (including subspeciality clinics) and the Neuropsychiatric Special Care (NSC) units (inpatient psychiatric unit and partial hospitalization program setting).

Work Location: This role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Senior Instructor:

  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: MD and/or DO

  • Applicants must possess a Colorado Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certified in Psychiatry, and Board eligible in Child Psychiatry.

  • Must obtain medical staff privileges within Children's Hospital Colorado.

Assistant Professor:

  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience.

  • Must obtain medical staff privileges within Children's Hospital Colorado.

Associate Professor:

  • 4-7 years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: MD and/or DO

  • Applicants must possess a Colorado Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certified in Psychiatry, and Board eligible in Child Psychiatry.

  • Must obtain medical staff privileges within Children's Hospital Colorado.

  • Must have prior experience in a Child Psychiatric setting, having completed a child/adolescent residency, academic/residency program-related experience highly desirable.

Professor:

  • Must have 7+ years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: MD and/or DO

  • Applicants must possess a Colorado Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certified in Psychiatry, and Board eligible in Child Psychiatry.

  • Must obtain medical staff privileges within Children's Hospital Colorado.

  • Must have prior experience in a Child Psychiatric setting, having completed a child/adolescent residency, academic/residency program-related experience highly desirable.

Open Track: To support the growth of our faculty, selected candidates at the Assistant Professor level or higher will be offered the opportunity to choose a track that corresponds to their area of excellence. Ranks of Instructor and Senior Instructor will be on the TTE track and given an opportunity to switch tracks, if needed, at a later time.

Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks)

  • Clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred.

  • Leadership and teaching experience valued.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Instructor: $200,000 to $215,000.

Senior Instructor: $200,000 to $215,000.

Assistant Professor: $200,000 to $215,000.

Associate Professor: $220,000 to $245,000.

Professor: $250,000 to $300,000.

This represents the 25-50 percentile of the salary range which is reflective of a candidate with 1-7 years of experience. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including

including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
