Government Banking Relationship Manager responsible for engaging and growing relationships with government clients, including federal, state, and local agencies. This role requires a strategic and consultative approach to banking, and the delivery of customized financial solutions that meet the unique needs of government entities. Responsible for driving business development efforts, maintaining client satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. Primary focus on cities and towns, state government, school districts, water districts, public authorities and agencies in Massachusetts. Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Growth:
- Identify and pursue new government business opportunities, focusing on increasing the bank's market share in the government sector.
- Understand clients' financial needs and position the bank's products and services, such as treasury management and investment services, to meet those needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand existing government banking portfolios by cross-selling and upselling products and services.
- Lead efforts in government-focused networking, conferences, and industry events to strengthen the bank's presence in the government sector.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with government decision-makers, understanding their unique financial needs and challenges.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure high client satisfaction levels by addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing timely solutions.
- Financial Product & Solution Expertise:
- Advise government clients on banking products and services such as deposits, treasury management, cash flow management, and other government-specific financial solutions.
- Utilize Treasury Management expertise to provide robust consultative solutions and be able to perform implementations.
- Portfolio Management:
- Proficiently manage existing portfolio and stay informed of developing trends in the public sector market
- Maintain assigned annual goals for portfolio maintenance, portfolio growth and new business development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business or Finance or equivalent experience
- Experience with Government Banking or Public Sector industry
- Treasury Management experience and product knowledge
- Successful and sustained sales and relationship management experience
- Extensive industry, product and regulatory knowledge across the sector
- Well-developed written communication and verbal presentation skills
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and Sales Force
- Emotional Intelligence, diplomacy and strong people skills
- Excellent problem resolution and organizational skills
