Job Summary: The Regulatory Specialist is responsible for updating product and ingredient documentation, customer documentation requests and customer communication. The Regulatory Specialist is also responsible for assisting in change management and audit preparation.

Reporting: Reports to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Have a complete understanding of food safety systems and programs. (HACCP, SQF, GMPs, Sanitation, SOPs, SSOPs, Preventive Controls)
  • Fulfill, customer documentation requests and packets.
  • Update and create product specifications, nutritionals, and product specific documentation.
  • Upload, connect, and navigate product and customer requests in TraceGains.
  • Navigate, upload, and update information in our ERP system.
  • Create and update COAs as needed.
  • Support and lead our change management as needed.
  • Update documentation as needed with industry changes.
  • Work with vendors to have up to date ingredient documentation.
  • Work with shipping and receiving on ingredient receipt as needed.
  • Assist in new ingredient approval as needed.
  • Assist in customer complaints as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Attendance of additional educational workshops and seminars will be required before or during employment for continual education.
  • 2 years' experience working in a food manufacturing facility (preferably dairy) in regulatory.
  • Awareness and understanding of FDA Food Traceability Rule (FSMA 204)
  • HACCP
  • GFSI/SQF
  • Customer focus demonstrates an ability to meet the expectations of customers.
  • Superior written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to cultivate working relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders while delivering the highest level of customer service.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Systems, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.

  • This position is performed mostly at a desk on a computer, gathering information from warehouse materials and shipping and receiving as needed.
  • In the normal course of the job, the employee is not regularly exposed to any major or recognized health hazards. However, there will be times when the employee may be required to enter manufacturing areas of the factory and construction zones where they may be exposed to major or recognized hazards. This employee shall receive both food safety and employee safety training before entering any of these areas.
  • This position is performed in an environment where slips, trips, and falls may be a hazard. Employees will be required to maintain adequate footwear provided by the company.
