At MISO, we're looking for an Infrastructure Build Analyst (Network) to join our infrastructure team, and this isn't your typical IT role. In this position, you'll have the chance to design and automate how secure infrastructure systems are built, configured, and deployed - all while working in a highly regulated, NERC/CIP-compliant environment that keeps the power grid safe and reliable.

You'll also get to use your networking knowledge to help shape both new and existing environments, playing a key role in how we design and maintain critical systems.

It's the perfect spot for someone who thrives in a security-focused environment, likes building smarter solutions, and wants to be part of a team that values innovation and reliability.

As our Infrastructure Build Analyst (Network) you will:

  • Design and automate infrastructure builds across physical, virtual, and cloud environment - with a focus on network devices - using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting tools like Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Collaborate with architects, network engineers, and cybersecurity experts to create secure, compliant infrastructure designs that align with NERC/CIP standards.
  • Support and configure networks during deployments, including VLAN tagging, IP planning, switch setup, and firewall rules.
  • Maintain and enhance build pipelines and provisioning frameworks to improve efficiency, accuracy, and auditability while documenting processes and system changes.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate issues to ensure system health, while also supporting audits and compliance activities with technical evidence.

To be a successful Infrastructure Build Analyst (Network), we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, or 3+ years of relevant work experience in infrastructure/system administration roles, with a focus on automation and secure build practices.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, or similar.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewall basics).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).

Other experiences include:

  • Knowledge of critical infrastructure systems (SCADA, EMS, or similar) along with knowledge of DevOps/CI/CD practices in secure, regulated environments.
  • CCNA, Microsoft, VMware or hands-on experience with CMDBs, ticketing systems, and version control tools like Git.

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience, knowledge, and skills.
