The RoleThe AspenTech Digital Grid Management (DGM) team is developing an intelligent AI-powered virtual assistant integrated into our next-generation web-based platform. We are seeking a motivated entry-level Associate Software Developer to join our innovative Research and Development organization. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and experienced Software Engineers to design, develop, and maintain intelligent applications that help users visualize, interpret, and interact with complex grid data through smart, conversational interfaces. You'll have the opportunity to learn and apply modern AI and Machine Learning (ML) techniques in a collaborative environment while contributing to high-impact projects. Your Impact
  • Develop and enhance web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., Angular, TypeScript).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to implement features and functionality aligned with business and user needs.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code; actively participate in design and code reviews.
  • Contribute to the development of intelligent assistant features by integrating AI/ML models to analyze and summarize data stored within AspenTech's DGM applications.
  • Support the implementation of natural language processing (NLP) techniques for smart user interactions through chat-based interfaces.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize both front-end and back-end application performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for codebases, workflows, and development best practices.
  • Stay current on emerging AI/ML technologies, web development trends, and industry best practices.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming with languages like Java, C#, or C++.
  • Proficiency with web development tools and technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript).
  • Exposure to web frameworks and libraries such as Angular, React, or jQuery.
  • Familiarity with database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development principles.
  • Foundational experience in implementing or working with Machine Learning models, especially in Python
  • Exposure to AI concepts like classification, regression, clustering, or NLP techniques.
  • Experience working in agile environments and familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins is a plus.
The salary range for this role is $70,700.00 - $88,400.00. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, charitable giveback day, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement benefits to eligible employees.
