Responsibilities

To support the medical records department through a variety of clerical, technical and related support services under the supervision of the Director of Health Information Management. Performs technical and clerical health information department functions in accordance with departmental and facility policies.

Qualifications

Education:

High school graduate. College graduate preferred.

Experience:

Two (2) years experience in Medical Records/Health Information Management preferred.

Privileges:

License/Certification:

Accreditation by the American Health Information Management Association as an Accredited Record Technician (ART) preferred.

Skills:

Must possess knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology, basic health information department function, and an ability to use medical transcription equipment, including knowledge of word processing software, Microsoft Word, and dictation system.

Physical Requirements:

Work is of medium demand requiring extensive sitting, standing, bending, and walking. Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds.
