Responsibilities
SCREENING FOR THIS POSITION WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE JOB IS FILLED. We have an opportunity for a Nurse Manager Position who will be the nursing and administrative leader of his/her assigned areas within the hospital. The individual chosen will be responsible for all the Child and Adolescent Acute and RTC programs within the hospital. This person will assure his/her areas are regulatory prepared and ready and that the areas assigned adhere to all standards and expectations; person should have a good working knowledge of CMS, Joint Commission and other regulatory agency standards and / or have the desire to enhance their knowledge and experience in this area. The individual will be accountable to providing support, education and mentoring of the staff in his or her department. With the other nurse managers, this individual will conduct regular department meetings and will assist in the new employee competencies and education. This person will assure education to his/her department on new or updated policies or forms and will monitor the return rate of satisfaction surveys in their area and make a plan to improve scores impacted by unit staff. This person will complete staff evaluations and competencies of his/her assigned staff. On an ongoing basis will conduct audits and round in his /her assigned area and make plans when areas are deficient. Is responsible for the overall coverage in their assigned area and works with the other nurse managers to assure the units / departments are covered. This individual should demonstrate a positive and skilled leader with a passion for psychiatric nursing and is able to drive this passion with his/her staff to assure excellence in the patient care provided. This person may on occasion cover as supervisor and flexibility with his / her schedule may be required. Good working knowledge of FTE management and staffing grids is required. An Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; BSN is preferred with a minimum of two years supervisory experience in a hospital setting with three years in a psychiatric setting required.
