What to Expect

The Tooling, Process & Training team is responsible for developing custom service tooling, hardware, and procedures to assist in the rapid development and maintenance of Tesla Energy's storage and charging solutions, as well as providing training on these tools and procedures. This skilled and motivated individual should have a strong technical background in both mechanical and electrical fundamentals, hands on experience using tools to prototype, assemble and disassemble, along with experience collaborating with broad cross-functional teams. The primary application of these skills will be in the development of procedures for servicing all of Tesla's Energy product suite.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of engineering fundamentals and hands on experience, with a passion for working in a fast-growing renewable energy company.


What You'll Do
  • Develops service procedures for multiple product families related to one or more energy systems (e.g. Megapack, Powerpack, etc.)

  • Finds the safest and most efficient ways to service and install Tesla Energy products

  • Ability to own end-to-end process development through all necessary safety and compliance and training reviews

  • Champion continuous improvement, process efficiency and process safety

  • Collaborate with Service Engineers and Engineering Technicians to test procedures

  • Trains service technicians on service procedures and new tool usage


What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Mechanical/Electrical Design/Process Development experience working on complex electro-mechanical systems

  • Effectively balances time across several high priority projects, and can manage changing priorities

  • Experience with CAD software (Preferably CATIA v5 v6/3dX/Solidworks)

  • Clear and concise communication

  • Ability to travel 10-15% for work on site or at other Tesla Factory settings

    Expected Compensation
    $92,720 - $159,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
