  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Grand Rounds, conferences, and other major events, that support the strategic goals of the cancer program.
  • Experienced professional who can effectively work with the CEOs office, faculty, distinguished speakers, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for each event, ensuring alignment with the universitys objectives and branding.
  • Manage logistics including venue selection, catering, audio-visual, and technology needs, travel arrangements, and on-site execution.
  • Oversee all aspects of registration, attendance tracking, and post-event evaluation and reporting.
  • Cultivate relationships with vendors, sponsors, and service providers to negotiate contracts and maximize value.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, regulatory standards, and best practices in hospitality and event management.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to others including volunteers assisting with event operations.
  • Anticipate potential challenges and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and maintain event excellence.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in hospitality, meeting planning, or conference management, with demonstrated success in coordinating executive-level events. 4-8 years relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; adept at building relationships and navigating complex stakeholder dynamics.
  • Expertise in project management and event technology platforms.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results within tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation or equivalent credential.
  • Experience working in an academic medical center or higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated creativity in event design and problem-solving.
