JOB TITLE: Crisis Interventionist (PRN)
DEPARTMENT: Crisis Intervention

SUMMARY:
Provides crisis intervention and behavioral health support in the Emergency and Psychiatry Departments. Conducts assessments, collaborates with medical providers on treatment and disposition, and offers counseling for patients and families. Functions as part of the multidisciplinary team and supports community outreach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:




  • Assess, plan, and evaluate patients presenting with behavioral health crises.



  • Conduct standardized assessments and communicate findings to psychiatric and ED providers.



  • Develop treatment and disposition plans, ensuring timely documentation.



  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling.



  • Complete psychosocial evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans per standards.



  • Maintain training in high-risk assessments and crisis techniques.




OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Support program development and quality improvement initiatives.



  • Maintain professional growth and clinical expertise.




CONTACTS: Staff, patients, physicians, families, and community partners.

REQUIRED SKILLS:




  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric crisis intervention, assessment, and counseling.



  • Ability to triage patients, educate families/staff, and communicate effectively.



  • Proficiency with clinical documentation; experience with electronic systems preferred.




QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Master's in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, or related field.



  • Licensure in DC: LICSW, LIGSW, LPC, or LGPC.



  • 3-5 years of psychiatric crisis management experience, preferably with adult/geriatric populations.



  • Current CPR certification required.




Salary Range: Minimum 1.00/hour - Maximum 1,000.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
