Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, 600 N. Wolfe Street, Baltimore, MD 21287

Position Summary:

Under general supervision, coordinates the dissemination of information to referring/requesting physicians. Assesses the needs of the referring/requesting physician and contacts the appropriate attending physician and other hospital personnel.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of Hospital and physician referral protocol, as well as Hospital policies and procedures, normally acquired during two to three years of related experience.

Analytical skills are essential for resolving problems, obtaining historical information, determining the specific type of physician service required, and providing physicians with relevant information and assistance.

Good telephone etiquette and excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to act as a liaison between referring physicians and JHH.

Shift: Full Time (40 hrs.), Rotating Shifts. Weekends Required

Education: The work requires administrative skills and technical training, as acquired through two years of college or equivalent work experience. Medical terminology required.

Required Work Experience: Some experience with computer data entry and word processing.
