As our Global Buyer / Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that both finished goods and components arrive at the right place, at the right time, in the right quantities. In this position, you will partner across functions and geographies-working with engineering, operations, suppliers, logistics, and more-to keep our supply chain resilient, responsive, and ready for growth.
Key Responsibilities
Demand & Inventory Management
- Support demands from production, aftermarket, engineering, and other sources
- Balance safety stock and EOQs to ensure supply stability and logistical efficiency
- Maintain planning parameters, master data, and forecasts to reflect real-world conditions
- Provide timely, data-backed status updates and insights to management
Supplier & Vendor Collaboration
- Serve as the main liaison to suppliers: monitor delivery, manage issues, and negotiate
- Facilitate supplier ramp-ups, transitions, and new product launches
- Build and strengthen partnerships with vendors and internal stakeholders
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and drive KPIs across planning, delivery, inventory, and system performance
- Identify process gaps, risks, and opportunities - propose and lead improvement initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally on demand planning, system enhancements, and problem-solving
Operational & Tactical Execution
- Issue purchase orders, expedite deliveries, and resolve delays proactively
- Calculate reorder, rebuild, and safety-stock levels using inventory models
- Perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and manage aged/obsolete inventory
- Support emergency orders, supply shortages, or quality issues as needed
- Generate reports on inventory performance, costs, ABC classification, turnover, etc.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years' experience in purchasing, material planning, supply chain, or scheduling
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to use data to drive decisions
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, modeling)
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems and demand forecasting
- Ability to thrive in cross-functional, fast-paced, and multicultural environments
- Self-starter who can manage daily tasks and projects concurrently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with lean tools, Kanban, kaizen, or continuous-improvement initiatives
- Experience in global supply chains or manufacturing settings
- Expertise in cost modeling, obsolescence management, and inventory optimization
