Department Summary

The Facilities Personnel team is responsible for supporting all the employees within Facilities. We liaison with HR, HR Benefits, Payroll, Time and Labor, and various departments across the university campus to ensure that our team members across Facilities have the support and information they need.

Position Overview

The Facilities Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Facilities Office Assistant to join our Personnel Team.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
*Assist in managing administrative duties in the area.
*Enter data in spreadsheets and inventory logs, and develop forms and presentations, with attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
*Evaluate existing electronic processes and offer improvement recommendations.
*Assist with the employment of student workers within the Facilities Department.

Minimum Qualifications

*Follow oral and written instructions.
*Strong communication skills.
*Perform assigned duties accurately and thoroughly
*Works well independently and with a team, setting a positive example for teammates.
*Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat
*Available for a 20hrs a week in 4 or 5 hour shifts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

*Exceptional customer service skills.
*Advanced Microsoft Office Skills.
*Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes and handle multiple tasks.
*Ability to keep complex records, and organize data efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

Possession of a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment; ability to drive a vehicle and maintain coverage under university liability insurance policy, if required to drive University vehicles.

Job Duties



  • Provides support to the Facilities Personnel office/area.
  • Perform varied clerical duties such as data entry, records management and front desk support.
  • Assist with coordination and employment of student workers within the Facilities Department.
  • Assist with the preparation, coordination and monitoring of projects and events for the Facilities Department.
  • Demonstrates punctuality and follows policies and procedures for absences, time and attendance


Physical Requirements

Communicating with others to exchange information.
Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
