Responsibilities

Job Summary
This position assists in various activities surrounding the preparation of financial statements and supporting documents, leads performance of monthly financial analysis activities, and oversees review of accounting system inputs/outputs for accuracy and reasonableness. Coordinates various projects including annual audit and tax returns. Provides financial and technical expertise to support daily operations and recommend improvements to department processes. This position's responsibilities includes, but are not limited to, preparing and analyzing advanced reports, anticipating significant business transactions and monitoring transactional impact to financial statements, performing complex analysis of financial information for all entities, and preparing general ledger account reconciliations. This position's responsibilities also include assembling, obtaining, and reviewing support for varied accounting and finance functions. Incumbent gathers, processes, and summarizes complex financial information to provide support to the organization's fiscal functions and applies accounting reporting requirements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) related to the goals of the company.
Essential Functions
  • Assists leadership with the coordination of the month-end close process and year end external audit within all of General Accounting. Oversees compilation of data and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports for individual departments or for upper management. Assists with preparation and ensures the accuracy of reports for month-end and year-end financial close. Prepares journal entries to accurately reflect activity. May review journal entries and/or account reconciliations prepared by other staff for accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for special accounting projects including, but not limited to, annual corporate tax returns, unclaimed property, research, captive insurance, and inventory. Provides a high level of financial and technical expertise and assistance to leaders by effectively preparing and communicating financial information including journal entries and account reconciliations as requested and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Assists with data collection and schedule preparation needed in order to complete organizations annual corporate tax returns by a third party company. Acts a lead for audit schedule preparations for the annual external audit.
  • May oversee the recording of the fixed assets into the electronic system and monthly balancing of the FAS to the General Ledger. Responsible for all related reporting associated with the fixed assets and posting of depreciation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting - Required
Experience
  • 3 years public accounting or industry - Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • Non Clinical\CPA - Certified Public Accountant - Preferred
