Job Summary:
The Department of Radiology is seeking a Scientist I who will be a core team member of the Wisconsin Imaging-based Screening and Cancer Research (WISCR) program. The Wisconsin Imaging-based Screening and Cancer Research (WISCR) Network is a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Madison and community practices throughout Wisconsin to aggregate de-identified breast imaging data with the goal of improving population-based screening outcomes. WISCR provides a resource for big data research, including the use of artificial intelligence in screening, that will influence regional and national cancer screening policies and practices. This team member will work within a core group of researchers and staff to execute multi-modality data science projects with the ultimate goal of improving breast cancer screening, treatment, and outcomes regionally and nationally. This position will report directly to the Director. The successful candidate will have or rapidly acquire an understanding of breast cancer screening data, data management and analysis using SQL and SAS/STATA, and a solid understanding of population-based big data analyses. The Scientist I team member is expected to develop a deep understanding of the data compiled in the breast cancer screening registry and act as subject matter expert for collaborating researchers.
