Overview / Job Summary:

The Trainer, Automation & Maintenance position develops and delivers industry-specific training in automation and advanced manufacturing. This role partners with industry leaders, internal staff, and consultants to ensure training programs are innovative, effective, and aligned with workforce needs.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with industry, vendors, and support organizations to design and deliver automation training programs.
  • Collaborate with WSU Tech leadership and faculty to create curricula, coordinate delivery across multiple formats, and integrate emerging technologies.
  • Oversee program operations, including budget management, training delivery at partner sites, and outreach to promote careers in advanced manufacturing.
  • Stay current with industry trends, represent WSU Tech at events, and participate in professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Education:

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • At least 8 years of experience in automated manufacturing environments, with preference for corporate training or teaching experience.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communicator with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Professional, collaborative, and adaptable to changing industry and organizational needs.
