What to Expect

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Global Supply Chain Analyst to create and execute the tactical and operational buying strategy of logistic services related to Returnable Packaging/Reverse Logistics. In this role, the Global Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for the qualification, selection and contracting of transportation and logistics services supporting automotive, service, and energy business areas of the organization. In depth knowledge of the industry, fostering positive business relationships and experience in negotiating contracts related to collection, consolidation, storage, transloading & various other logistics services will be a key requirement of the role.

The candidate will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting the development, implementation and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance.

The Global Supply Chain Analyst builds and leverages strong working relationships with key suppliers as well as internal stakeholders to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work towards good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The successful candidate will be a self-starter; motivated with expertise in Logistics & Sourcing.


What You'll Do
  • Owner of RFI's, RFP's and RFQ's - ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented
  • Ensures NDA, SOW's and Master Purchase Agreement are positioned appropriately before business is initiated
  • Drive price negotiations processes to ensure that Tesla's commodity pricing is best in class
  • Responsible for maintaining productive global transportation and ancillary service contracts
  • Drive continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through strategic price negotiations
  • Address all areas of category management including category business plans, global market and pricing analysis and procurement support
  • Lead purchasing activities with internal stakeholders: Finance, Logistics Operations, Production, and Engineering departments and develop bid specifications, identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, vet suppliers, prepare bid-recaps, and make sourcing recommendations

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or Chemistry and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years of related experience in vendor/carrier management in a Supply Chain
  • Project related experience in Special Logistic Equipment Services
  • Track record in planning, execution and delivery of projects
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes (SOP's, RFP/RFQ/RFI's, PO's etc.)

    Expected Compensation
    $60,000 - $132,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
