Summary:

The Performance Improvement Engineer I supports CHRISTUS Health's Data Management and Performance Improvement initiatives by developing foundational reports and dashboards using SQL, Epic EMR modules (Caboodle, Cogito, Clarity), Power BI, and SSRS. This role focuses on learning and applying technical skills to deliver data-driven insights that support operational and clinical improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:


  • Manages multiple projects and can work at various levels of the organization.
  • Can manage large-scale projects through the entire project life cycle.
  • Has breadth of knowledge to acquire data, convert to information, and draw action plans and coach departments to their targets.
  • Analyze problems in terms of workflows/policies/procedures, Epic functionality, end-user knowledge, and training requirements.
  • Assist in the design and development of basic reports and dashboards for clinical and operational teams.
  • Support ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
  • Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in performance improvement projects by providing accurate and timely data.

Requirements:

Education/Skills


  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office; basic understanding of healthcare workflows preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation skills, and customer relationship skill

Experience


  • 1-2 years of experience with SQL and SSIS preferred.
  • Exposure to healthcare data and reporting tools is a plus.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications


  • Epic Cogito, Caboodle, and Clarity certifications required or willing to obtainupon hire.
