This is a 100% Contract position for 2 years with the possibility of extension or conversion to career status. Travel is required to different offsite locations/Must be willing to travel. DESCRIPTIONThe CW3E Hydrologist will develop, test, and validate CW3E's WRF-Hydro (National Water Model) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) based hydrologic monitoring/forecasting system, as well as set up new forecast domains and their near real time operations and delivery of forecast products to project partners. The position will develop, test, operate, and validate different short-term river forecasting chain based different sources of deterministic and ensemble weather forecasts. The position will also perform hydrologic impact analysis for various sectors under climate change and lead scientific journal publications on the findings. The position will also help conduct tech transfers to sponsoring agencies and develop new proposals. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $88,000 - $161,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $42.15 - $77.39 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
