*Description*
*Our client* is seeking a *Cloud Engineering Lead* to own and evolve their Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) portfolio. This strategic yet hands-on role will drive enterprise monitoring, automation, and innovation across the organization. You'll lead cloud architecture, manage vendor relationships, and champion the use of generative AI to enhance operational efficiency and engineering workflows. *Key Responsibilities* * *Cloud Strategy & Architecture* * Define multi-year cloud roadmaps in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture. Approve reference architectures, IaC patterns, and hardening baselines. * *Infrastructure Management* * Own availability, capacity, and performance of all cloud workloads. Lead disaster recovery planning and quarterly failover exercises. * *Monitoring & Automation* * Deploy and optimize enterprise monitoring platforms. Embed AIOps to reduce MTTR and publish monthly reliability scorecards. * *DevOps & Scripting* * Develop Infrastructure as Code templates and no-code automations using PowerShell and APIs. * *AI & Innovation Leadership* * Champion generative AI adoption across engineering teams to automate tasks and drive innovation. * *Vendor & Cost Management* * Serve as primary contact for Microsoft, Oracle, and Accenture MSP. Negotiate contracts, manage renewals, and conduct cost optimization reviews. * *Governance & Lifecycle Management* * Oversee OS and platform lifecycles including patching, image hardening, and EOL migrations. * *Team Leadership & Incident Management* * Mentor team members, act as L3 for critical incidents, and lead post-incident reviews. * *Change & Service Management* * Approve environment designs and coordinate change windows with CAB and Service Management. *Preferred Skills* * Architecture & deployment optimization * Change and service management (CAB) * Generative AI and automation workflows * Engineering leadership and innovation mindset *Required Qualifications* * *Education:* * Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. * In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of enterprise architecture experience required. * *Experience:* * 8+ years in cloud engineering * 3+ years leading teams or large-scale programs * Proven experience in vendor management and cloud FinOps *Technical Skills* * *Cloud Platforms:* Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) * *DevOps & IaC:* CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code * *Systems:* Windows, Linux * *Networking & DR:* Disaster recovery, performance tuning * *Scripting:* PowerShell, API development * *Monitoring & Automation:* Enterprise tools, AIOps * *Soft Skills:* Contract negotiation, cost analysis, incident leadership, executive communication *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $78.00/hr.
